Join us in celebrating the launch of Organizing Food, Faith, and Freedom: Imagining Alternatives by Ozan Nadir Alakavuklar. This thought-provoking book critically examines the economic, symbolic, and political dimensions of community-level solutions addressing food waste and poverty within a capitalist society through an organisational lens.

The event will feature insightful commentaries from Guusje Weeber (Slow Food Youth Network), Giuseppe Feola (Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Utrecht University), Lena Radt and Josh Jacobs (Youth Future Food Movement), and Mattea Wuethrich (community activist, Utrecht University). This will be followed by an open conversation with participants to foster engaging dialogue on the book's themes and its vision for imagining socially just and ecologically sustainable forms of organising.

We will end the afternoon with food and drinks!

This event is co-organised by the communities Transforming CitiesFuture Food Utrecht and Critical Pathways. The communities are part of the strategic theme Pathways to Sustainability.
