Academic Zine-Making Retreat on Curaçao

From to

We are organizing an art-science retreat where participants use art to reflect on the societal impact of sustainability research in the Caribbean: what is going well, what can go better, and how can we best minimize the risk for negative impact. During the retreat, we will make a zine together about this topic and engage in personal reflection.

For whom is it? The retreat is intended for individuals who are still early on in a Caribbean sustainability research-oriented career like master students, PhD candidates, PostDocs, artists, policy-makers, activists, science communicators, users of research results, or members of civil society.

What does it cost? Participation in the retreat is free (we have about 8 spots available), and we also have some additional funding to help cover any costs participants may incur through their participation, such as travel to Curaçao or child care.

How to apply? You can find more information about the retreat here. The deadline for application is coming up on June 15th, but we are quite flexible. So, in case anyone needs more time they can just let us know by sending an email to d.t.trouwloon@uu.nl.

Any other questions? We have compiled an overview of the most Frequently Asked Questions. Don’t see your question there? Feel free to send an email to d.t.trouwloon@uu.nl.
