6th Economics of Public Procurement Workshop
The Utrecht University School of Economics, jointly with the University of Turku, is pleased to announce the call for papers for the “6th Economics of Public Procurement Workshop”, which will take place in Utrecht on 24-25 October 2024. The event will be held in person on the premises of Utrecht University. The previous five editions were held at ZEW Mannheim.
The symposium provides an annual forum to discuss recent advances in the economic analysis of public procurement and to bring together economists active in the field. Last year’s programme can be found here.
Call for papers and financial support
For this edition, papers on green or innovation public procurement are particularly welcome. Papers are also invited on the following (non-exhaustive) list of procurement topics:
- Incentives, screening, and monitoring
- Political economy of allocation decisions and favoritism
- Governance of contracting agencies
- Firm and industry responses
- Efficacy of different award designs
- Active and passive waste
- Pre-award vs post-award outcomes
- Regulation
- Market structure
Both empirical and theoretical work is welcome. Interested authors are asked to submit a full paper in PDF format by 15 August 2024 via email (epp2024@uu.nl ).
Applicants will be notified of the acceptance decision by early September 2024. Accommodation and travel expenses (economy class) for presenters will be covered only for selected young scholars (PhD students and early stage post-doctoral researchers). There is no workshop fee.
