3D Design with Autodesk Fusion - Introduction (Block D)
Start designing your ideas
Key details
Workshop Details:
- Location: LPL
- Cost: Free
- Spaces: Limited to 8 participants
What You’ll Need:
- A laptop (Windows or Mac) with Autodesk Fusion 360 installed (get your free academic license here and check the system requirements here)
- A mouse (designing with a trackpad or touchscreen is tricky!)
- Optional: An idea for a part you'd like to design
Workshop Goals:
By the end of the session, you’ll have the skills to create a single-part design that is fully parametrically defined. You will learn the essential tools in Fusion 360 and gain insights into what makes a great design.
What to Expect:
Join us for an engaging and hands-on session where you'll dive into the essentials of Autodesk Fusion 360. This workshop is designed to walk you through the core tools of 3D design, allowing you to create a fully parametrically defined part. We’ll cover basic sketches and constraints, and how to use those to generate a 3D model.
With step-by-step guidance, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of how to turn a concept into a precise digital model. We’ll also touch on the key features of great designs, so you can take your skills to the next level. We'll show you the main do's and don'ts of 3D modelling, so you start your learning journey off well.
Expect a fun, interactive atmosphere where you’ll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions and apply what you learn in real-time. No prior experience is needed, just bring your curiosity and willingness to explore!
For those wanting to take it to next level, we also offer the 3D design with Fusion 360 - Advanced workshop. There we focus on quickly generating robust, multi-component models.
We look forward to seeing you there!
