Reserved Accommodation Programme Sept 23: Master's degree students

The Reserved Accommodation Programme offers furnished rooms and studios for new international students who meet the conditions. Because offers are limited, it is not guaranteed that you can find housing this way. This page is for new international Master's degree students.

Conditions (Master's degree students)

  • Offers are limited

    Placing a reservation is not guaranteed. Because the run for housing is high, also anticipate that you might not be able to book and explore other ways to find housing before booking opens.

  • Rental periods are fixed

    The agreements have fixed start and end dates. It is not possible to rent longer or shorter or cancel the agreement prematurely.

  • One year only

    Even if you plan to study in Utrecht for multiple years, it is only possible to rent in your first 12 months of studies.

Conditions for Master's degree students
  • You plan to enrol in the first year of an English-taughtUU Master's degree programme per September 2023, and;

  • You are new to the Netherlands, you have not completed your prior education in the Netherlands, and you currently live abroad;

  • You are looking to rent for a fixed rental period of 12 months. If you are searching for housing for a shorter rental period, it is not possible to apply.

  • * Exemption: Students who require a visa and/or residence permit are exempted for the English-taught condition. This means that you can apply for housing if you require a permit, even if your programme is (partly) taught in Dutch

Multiple bookings not allowed

Although you are advised to register an account with multiple housing providers, it is not allowed to apply for more than one room or studio when booking opens. If you successfully applied for an accommodation you are no longer eligible for housing options for the same or other housing providers. If you have more than one reservation this will therefore be denied. Which reservation is cancelled is random. Any costs or advanced payments are not reimbursed by the housing provider. Read more on why this is not allowed in the Reserved housing FAQ.
