For the 2016 round, ten applications were filed by multiple faculties and the University College for funding from the university portion of the Incentive Fund. The assessment committee selected six propositions for further development, of which five were eventually accepted.
Continuation of an earlier project that developed an app with which students could practice their communication skills digitally. The received funding will be used to work on further deepening and broadening the project.

‘Life Long Learning: Developing modularised education paths’’
This project investigates how modularising and flexibilising degree programmes can contribute to offering education to working people. It will also work on the professionalisation of lecturers who will provide such education.

‘Improving academic language skills: native speakers’ peerfeedback’
In this project, peerfeedback (an education method in which students teach each other) is used to intensify language education. The goal: better utilisation of the existing ‘internationalisation capital’ by matching up students of modern foreign languages with international students of the University College and Erasmus exchange students.
This project continues where a successful EMP project of the French degree programme left off.

‘Longitudinal interprofessional workplace learning’’
In this project, new forms of workplace learning are developed with the goal to improve interprofessional collaboration between specialists from different disciplines and between specialists and other care providers.
The central goals are:
- To integrate academic knowledge into practical settings.
- To act and decide interprofessionally.
- To think from the perspective of longitudinal and social contexts.

‘Prelabs and E-labs: Learning to experiment digitally ’
It is of value to let students carry out experiments early on in their degree programmes. This project aims to offer a solution by developing forms of digital experimentation. Knowledge clips, online protocols and experiments that can be set up and carried out in silico should enable the student to learn in a much earlier stage to think experimentally. This initiative comes from University College Utrecht. The degree programmes of Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Medicine and Veterinary Medicine participate in this project.
