| | Fill out the Completion Plan. | Complete the Completion Plan form with your supervisory team. Usually as part of your last PhD progress meeting (approximately 12 months before your end date). |
| | Upload your doctoral thesis to MyPhD before the end date of your contract (or intended date for non-employed PhD candidates). | You can upload your thesis after your supervisory team has assessed and approved your manuscript. | | Review the actions and arrangements for your PhD defence on uploading your manuscript, setting a date for your PhD defence, and more. | The UU provides a list with actions that you need to undertake after completion of your thesis up to the moment of the PhD defence. Instructions are send via MyPhD. Contact the Beadle’s Office and follow the instructions for arranging your PhD defence ceremony. |
| | Plan printing of your doctoral thesis. | If you would like to print your thesis as booklets, take designing and printing time into account. The graduate school does not fund printing costs. Ask your supervisors about local possibilities or contact specific professional funds, research organisations or medical foundations. |
| | Request a GSLS Training Certificate. | Send your request at least 2 months before your PhD defence. |
| | Defend your doctoral thesis. | Congratulations! You have developed into an independent researcher. |
