1. Carefully select a course that matches your academic background and interests from the Course Guide. Make sure to read the prerequisite knowledge and requirements listed on the Osiris catalogue page, which is indicated in the faculty description. 
    
2. Fill in the registration form. You will be required to attach a CV and a motivation letter for your first-choice course only. In your motivation letter, please explain why you chose this specific course and how it matches your academic background, experience, and interests.
   Please note that we only accept motivation letters written specifically for your first-choice course; generic motivation letters that address multiple courses will not be considered. The use of AI (such as ChatGPT) is permitted, but in moderation. AI tools can help you formulate or structure your answers, but we value authenticity, so please ensure that your motivation letter reflects your own story and motivation
    
3. After submitting the registration form, you will receive an automatic email confirming that we have received your application. If you do not receive this email within one day, please check your spam folder. If it is not there, please contact us at incluusion@uu.nl
    
4. Once the application deadline has passed, we review the applications for applicants' first-choice courses. We assess applicants based on their academic background, relevant experience, and motivation letter.
    
5. If more applicants qualify than we can accommodate, we use a lottery to decide who can participate in the course. We aim for a balanced group of approximately 50% new students and 50% returning Incluusion students. We also take into account whether an applicant lives close to Utrecht and whether they have been unsuccessful in the lottery three or more times before.
    
6. Applicants who are selected in this first round will be invited for an intake interview. During the intake, we discuss your background, motivation, and expectations, and assess whether the course is a good fit for you.
   We also discuss practical matters, such as your availability on the course days, your ability to cover any travel costs associated with participation, and whether you have access to a laptop.
    
7. After the intake interview, and provided that you meet the entry requirements and that practical matters have been addressed, the Incluusion team forwards your application to the course coordinator.
    
8. The course coordinator then decides whether participation is possible and whether you are a good match for the course. Please note that even if you are considered a suitable candidate, participation cannot be guaranteed, as a course may no longer be available to Incluusion students or may no longer have room for additional participants.
    
9. If your application is approved, we will inform you and start the process of registering you as a temporary student at Utrecht University.
    
10. If you are a new Incluusion student, you will be required to attend Restart, our two-day preparatory training, before your course begins. Restart takes place during the two weeks before the start of your course. All new students will automatically receive an invitation.
