Design principles for learning spaces
In addition to the basic items that guide the design of the physical learning environment, the Future Learning Spaces project has also developed 24 design principles for learning spaces. In contrast to the basic principles, these design principles primarily serve as a source of inspiration, and designers can pick-and-choose when designing a physical learning environment. Multiple examples have been provided in the form of a card game.
The project has used these design principles to develop a card game that instructors, real estate developers, students and education managers can use to brainstorm about the teaching spaces. The card game is available digitally under a Creative Commons license.
