Hybrid Active Learning Classroom
This experiment explored how we could design a space where:
- Interaction between students is encouraged;
- Interaction between the teacher and students is encouraged;
- Interaction between students and class material is encouraged;
- Both instruction and collaborative learning can be facilitated;
- Remote instruction and collaborative learning can be facilitated, where in the case of collaborative learning the groups consist of students who are both remote and onsite.

Completion
As of September 2024, the Hybrid Active Learning Classroom (BOL 2.049) has been returned to the regular scheduling process and the space is no longer a “Future Learning Space.
The Active Learning Space (HALC without hybrid component) has been added to the university's teaching space standards, making it easier for faculty in new or remodel projects to add such spaces to their teaching environment.
