Utrecht University has an arrangement with housing corporation Holland2Stay for Exchange students and new international non-Dutch students who enrol in the first year of an English taught degree programme. If you are eligible for the Reserved Accommodation Programme you can rent their accommodation via a priority arrangement. When to apply
You can book the studios via Holland2Stay prior to your formal admission. The studios cannot be viewed before booking opens, which will be on 18 December 2017. Although the UU priority application and reservation procedure is valid up to 18 January 2018, the number of available studios is limited and reservations are allocated on a first come, first served basis. To increase your chances of booking via Holland2Stay, you are advised not to postpone your booking.
How to apply
- Register with Holland2Stay via their website and pay the registration fee (23,50 euros). You cannot book a studio via this link
- In order to book a studio you need to follow the separate link to the Utrecht2Stay reservations portal for UU students
- Your reservation will be verified by Utrecht University from the first week of January onwards. For this arrangement you need to be eligible for the Reserved Accommodation Programme. It is not possible to book this accommodation if you previously rented or currently rent accommodation via Holland2Stay
- In order to finalise your booking you pay a registration and contract fee
The Flying Deer is a former office building that has recently been renovated and transformed into a residential building. It mainly consists of single household studios. All studios are furnished and have fast internet (wifi), private kitchen facilities and a private bathroom. The Flying Deer building offers several additional facilities such as bicycle storage, a roof terrace, a meeting point, a gym, a communal sauna, and a laundry room. These facilities are shared with the other residents.
The Flying Deer is situated at Vliegend Hertlaan beside the water front, in the Transwijk district of Utrecht. There is a good connection to public transportation, and it is only 15 minutes cycling distance from Utrecht Central station and the city centre. The residence is also closely situated to Park Transwijk and a shopping centre.
Rental fees and rental period
The rent of the studios on offer start from approximately 724 euros including mandatory utilities per month. You also pay a registration and contract fee. The studios are available for a fixed rental period of six months.
