Application: Students from Ukraine

If you are a refugee bachelor student from Ukraine, you may be able to enroll as an exchange student, even if your home university does not have an exchange agreement with Utrecht University. You might also be eligible to receive an Erasmus+ grant. See below for more information on how to apply.

How to apply

Given the differences in educational systems, you must have completed at least 2 years at your home university to take courses at UU. If you are entering as a third-year student, the advice is to look at level 1 courses at UU, if you are a fourth/fifth year student you may also look at level 2/3 UU courses.

All applications are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. More information on the steps for application:

  1. Email the Universitywide International Office (exchange@uu.nl) to inform us of your interest to apply for an exchange at UU. Nomination by your home university is not necessary.
  2. After you have send us an email, we will contact you with a link to our online application system, and  further instructions on how to complete your application. Make sure to take note of our application deadlines (below).
  3. After checking your application, we forward it to the respective faculty or department for official acceptance. Conditions are availability and the match between your background and the courses you have chosen.
  4. If you are admitted as an Exchange student you will receive information about the services that the university offers. This includes information about the Erasmus+ grant application procedure as you will most likely be eligible to receive an Erasmus+ grant.
