Digital testing
Integrating digital testing into your curriculum is one of the ways you can strengthen your education. Digital assessments allow you to both improve the quality of your tests and to work more effectively and efficiently.
The assessment centres in the Educatorium and Olympos, every degree programme can administer digital assessment to all of their students using chromebooks and a secure WiFi network - even the massive first-year courses for Law and Psychology. All UU faculties have started using digital assessment facilities. The faculties also have their own chromebooks and assessment locations connected to the secure WiFi network to administer assessments to smaller groups, such as courses with few students, students who need extra time, re-sits and digital reviews.
Utrecht University uses the assessment software Remindo for administering digital summative and formative assessments.
What value does it add for your education?
Digital assessments offer added value for both for students and teachers. Digital assessments correspond to how students live and work today. Evaluations have shown that they would rather type than write, and that they appreciate a broader range of question formats. A literature study has also shown that digital assessments can have positive effects on the quality of the assessment, as long as digital features are implemented correctly. Both summative and formative assessments can be administered digitally. The Remindo assessment tools provides teachers with a clear overview of all exam questions and exams administered, allowing them to make structural improvements to the quality of their exams.
