SIG Generative AI in Education

This Special Interest Group (SIG) is focused on Generative AI (GenAI) in education at Utrecht University and University Medical Centre Utrecht. As GenAI technologies continue to disrupt and reshape educational practices, it is crucial for us to come together to explore, discuss, and share our experiences and insights. This SIG aims to provide a collaborative platform where faculty and researchers across diverse disciplines can connect, share their ongoing projects, and learn from each other's approaches to integrating GenAI into their teaching, research, and administrative practices.

Recognising the need for a varied approach, this SIG will facilitate a tailored, interdisciplinary dialogue. Our quarterly meetings will feature two main components: an update session, where members can present their latest projects, initiatives, or research findings; and a focused discussion on key topics such as assessment strategies, pedagogical innovations, and research applications related to GenAI.

In addition to our meetings we will utilise a dedicated MS Teams environment as a centralised platform to foster ongoing collaboration and information sharing. This space will serve as a hub for different channels focused on specific interest areas, reducing the need for multiple, disjointed groups and ensuring wider access to valuable insights and resources. We invite all interested faculty, researchers, and staff to join us in this initiative as we navigate the opportunities and challenges presented by GenAI together.

Interested in joining this SIG? Send an email to cat@uu.nl and you will be added to the MsTeams-environment!
