Research and experiences

The starting point for the case studies is working according to the CIMO logic. This looks from a specific context (C) at an intervention (I) being implemented. The idea is that the intervention should trigger specific mechanisms (M), and that those mechanisms lead to certain outcomes (O). The idea behind this is that teachers think carefully about why they want to implement a particular innovation in general or tool in particular. Improving learning outcomes and student learning behaviour is central to this.

The Centre for Academic Teaching and Learning evaluates the use of teaching tools in education according to an established system. Using questionnaires for students and questionnaires for teachers, we map the (didactic) added value of teaching tools.
