Contribute to education without animal testing

Animals are important to understand diseases and develop treatments for both animals and humans. That is why animals continue to be used for education and research in veterinary and human medicine. With technologies such as Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality, this may no longer be necessary in the future. Prof. Dr. Daniela Salvatori is developing the 'Avatar Zoo' together with UMCU and IT. Holographic 3D models replace live animals in this flexible platform, in order to be able to study the anatomical, physiological and pathological systems and processes of all kinds of animals.
