Katsura

Looking for the perfect location to host a workshop, an awayday with you team, or a small network meeting surrounded by greenery? For smaller gatherings, we offer the tent Katsura, named after the Katsura tree that can be seen from here. Katsura is located at the back of the Meadow in the Botanic Gardens, with views of the Arboretum and the Fortgracht. The Meadow has its own entrance gate on Budapestlaan.

Availability

Katsura is available for rent from mid-May until mid October 2026. Please contact botanische.tuinen@uu.nl for availability.

Facilities

Please note: screens or projection equipment are not available at this location. 

• Tables and chairs
• The tent is set up in a café style for approximately 50 people by default. We can arrange the location in your preferred setup; an additional setup/cleanup fee of €50 applies.
• On the Meadow, some large picnic tables, for 6 persons per table, and some steel benches are available
• Toilets are within walking distance, including a wheelchair-accessible toilet
• Wi-Fi

Please fill in the application form to reserve an option for renting Fort View. You will then receive a reaction from our reservations team about the availability and rental rates.

Catering

Our in-house caterer, Botanica, provides delicious coffee and tea, treats, lunch, drinks, an extensive buffet, or a barbecue. Please note that renting a location after 5pm is only possible with the use of our in-house caterer. Rachel de Groot and Berry Dirven from Botanica are happy to discuss the options for your event and will prepare a personalized quote.
