Fort View

Looking for the perfect location for a summer drinks reception, barbecue, or larger event surrounded by greenery? For these type of occasions, we offer Fort View. This tent is located at the front of the Meadow in the Botanic Gardens and offers a beautiful view of Fort Hoofddijk and the Rock garden. The Meadow has its own entrance gate on the Budapestlaan.

Availability

Fort View is available for rent from mid May until mid October 2026. Please contact botanische.tuinen@uu.nl for availability.

Facilities

Please note: screens or projection equipment are not available at this location. 

• Bar, tables, chairs, and a few high tables with bar stools
• The space is set up in a café style for approximately 100 people by default. We can arrange the location in your preferred setup; an additional setup/cleanup fee of €50 applies.
• Several large parasols
• On the Event Meadow some large picnic tables, for 6 persons per table, and some steel benches are available
• Power is available, for example for charging a laptop or phone
• Toilets are within walking distance, including a wheelchair-accessible toilet
• Wi-Fi

Catering

Our in-house caterer, Botanica, provides delicious coffee and tea, treats, lunch, drinks, an extensive buffet, or a barbecue. Please note that renting a location after 5pm is only possible with the use of our in-house caterer. Rachel de Groot and Berry Dirven from Botanica are happy to discuss the options for your event and will prepare a personalized quote.
