Bamboo walk and Taxodium marsh

Turn left when entering the Gardens and you will pass a miniature Taxodium marsh. When crossing the North American woodland area you may already spot the Bamboo walk because of it's height.

In spring the miniature Taxodium wetland area is at it's best. The enormous white and yellow bracts of the skunk cabbage (Lysichiton) can be seen then, as well as beautiful marsh marigold (Caltha palustris). Through the year the roots as well as the length of the Taxodium is stunning.

Cross the North Amarican woodland area and you will come to the Bamboo walk. In addition to numerous species of bamboo, there are also Japanese and Chinese plants here, including peony and epimedium species. Peonies flower for a short period only, but the seed heads that remain are also highly attractive.
