Expert review on Pharmaceutical Public-Private Partnerships

Pharmacutical Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), such as UCAB, are coperations between multiple stakeholders from both the public and private sector to develop a mutual (pharmaceutical) product. Remco de Vrueh (Lygature) and Daan Crommelin (UIPS) published an expert review in which they discussed reasons for initiating a PPP, focusing on precompetitive research. It describes the different stakeholders that are participating in PPPs and the involvement of health foundations, patient organizations and regulatory scientists in these partnerships. The authors identified tangible outcomes in four case studies (IMI, SGC, TI Pharma & ADNI) by means of different approaches to assess the success of a PPP.

Daan Crommelin is a member of the UCAB Scientific Advisory Board and former Board Member.
