Deviation from the rules
In certain situations, you may ask the university to deviate from the rules. If you have questions about this, you can contact the university via fixus2526@uu.nl.
If you submitted your registration request late, you may ask the university to allow you to participate in the selection procedure. This depends on:
- the reasons why you were unable to submit a registration request between 1 October and 15 January due to circumstances beyond your control.
- whether there is any evidence.
- how soon after 15 January you submit your request.
Please note! You can submit a request from 15 January to 31 January 2025 at the very latest.

If you were unable to attend the selection due to reasons beyond your control or exceptional circumstances, you may submit a request to cancel your selection attempt. A used selection attempt counts towards the maximum number of times that you may submit an enrolment application for a limited enrolment programme, and also counts towards future academic years.
You must enclose proof from an expert or authority that you were unable to attend the day in question. If you do not provide proof, the request will not be granted.
You can submit an application from 1 February to 14 April 2025 at the very latest.

If you accepted an offered place late, it will immediately be awarded to another candidate by Studielink. You may ask the university to offer you a place after all, but only if you can demonstrate that you were completely unable to accept your place within two weeks. Whether that is possible depends on:
- the reason you accepted the place late and whether there is any evidence.
- how soon you submit your request.
- the number of reserved places the university still has available.
If this situation occurs in or after the last week of July 2025, no place can be offered for the 2025-2026 academic year. Under these circumstances, you may however ask to be offered a place for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Please note! You may submit a request from 15 April to 30 September 2025 at the very latest.
There is a national maximum of three attempts to be selected for a programme with a limited enrolment. If you fail a required examination between 1 September 2024 and 31 August 2025, you may ask the university to cancel your selection attempt. You must include evidence to prove that you failed your exam.
Please note! You may submit a request from 1 July to 31 August 2025 at the very latest.

If you have accepted your place and (nearly) completed your registration, but something serious happens that prevents you from studying in the 2025-2026 academic year just before the programme starts, you may submit a request to the admission board of the programme to grant you a provisional place for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Please note! You may submit a request from 1 July to 1 August 2025 at the very latest.
