Humanities Honours Programme

Our students will tell you all about their experiences with HHP

As a Humanities honours student, you are actively engaged in shaping your own education, and participate in discussion sessions on academic books and articles with students from other undergraduate programmes, create a podcast or documentary, or organise a symposium or lecture.

What will I be doing as an honours student English Language and Culture?

You will be studying your own field in depth and exploring beyond its boundaries, becoming acquainted with related Bachelor's programmes in order to broaden your horizon. Would the honours programme be something for me?

Do you have a broad range of interests in the topics of history, art history, media and culture studies, philosophy, religious studies, artificial intelligence, languages, literature, and communication? And do you find societal problems interesting? In that case, HHP might be interesting for you!

Follow a second bachelor

Does studying come easily to you and would you like to challenge yourself further? During your first year, in consultation with your tutor and study advisor, you can choose to take another bachelor's course alongside English. Both bachelor's programmes can usually be completed within four years and lead to two fully-fledged bachelor's degrees. Your study plan is always tailored to your needs and will be drawn up in consultation with your study advisor.

You will receive more information during the introduction week. You will also meet your tutor and discuss your interest in this option. If you would like to know more, please send an email to studiepunt.gw@uu.nl.
