Versterk-Je-Onderwijs-Week: A conversation about community

This session addresses isolation by focusing on community. The central question we address is as follows. How can universities and colleges forge communal bonds within the context of the global pandemic? Veronique Schutjens and Nancy Mykoff have joined together to share their experiences. Their conversation will address topics like the ‘Academic Families’ project initiated at University Utrecht, and the ‘continuing the conversation’ zoom meetings lead by UCR’s Teaching Lab, as well as the Moderation Moments and Freedom Walks implemented at UCR. The audience will then enrich the conversation by joining the discussion. First, we will break down into three groups of instructors. The hope is that group members will share their ideas, hopes and concerns. Then, we will re-convene to discuss the possibilities.
