Meeting SIG Ondernemerschapsonderwijs

Education is changing. Students obtain knowledge and competences from several sources. Many companies and educational institutions use so-called badges that show someone has obtained a certain competence or specific knowledge. This system of open badges supports the trend of micro credentialing in education: to chop up education into little snippets that are separately certified. On Thursday 16th of May at 15:00 the special interest group Entrepreneurship Education organizes its next meeting about the development of open badges for entrepreneurship education. Feel welcome to join!

Read more on open badges in this SURF publication on micro credentialing. Open badges provide the opportunity to acknowledge knowledge and skills of (in this case) students – opening-up the door towards designing more flexible learning journeys for our students. We have invited dr Rick West from the School of Education, Brigham Young University. Dr West is involved in the pilot study of our university with open badges.  Dr West is interested in entrepreneurship education, as he studies the design, evaluation and support of environments for fostering collaborative innovation and interdisciplinary design.

The meeting will end at 17.00, after which there is the opportunity to all have a drink together.

Sign up for the meeting!

SIG Entrepreneurship Education

If we want our students to take a leading role in solving the bigger challenges the world is faced with, we should adjust our education. This asks for leadership, entrepreneurship and the ability to continue learning. How do you stimulate students in this way and how do you apply this in your teaching and learning? This SIG aims to connect teachers who are engaged with entrepreneurship education and want to learn from their colleagues. This SIG is initiated by Jelle Kok and launched in corporation with Centre for Entrepreneurship (CfE).

Do you want to share your story on entrepreneurship education or do you have questions or ideas on the theme and content? Please, contact Yvette Baggen. For questions of organizational matter, you can contact the Centre for Academic Teaching.
