Dutch Scientific Institutes Abroad
There are 13 Dutch scientific institutes based outside the Netherlands. Utrecht University is member of the Board of 6 of these so-called Netherlands Institutes:
- Athens
- St. Petersburg
- Cairo
- Florence
- Rome
- Tokyo
Utrecht University is also coordinator of the Dutch Inter-university Institute for Art History in Florence (NIKI).
About
The Netherlands Institutes abroad offer scientific teaching and research programmes, manage scholarship programmes and assist Dutch scientists and students staying in the country in which the institute is located. Most institutes provide accommodation and computer facilities. Some of them also engage in the promotion of Dutch higher education and the recruitment of students.
