Niels Bosma in expert group European Commission
Niels Bosma has been selected as a member of an expert group on social entrepreneurship to the European Commission. This EU-advisory group, called "Groupe d'experts de la Commission sur l'entrepreneuriat social" (GECES) is made up of representatives of the Member States, local authorities, social entrepreneurs' organisations, the banking and finance sector and the academic and university sector.
The GECES will be set up for 6 years (
2012 - 2017) and will examine the progress of the measures envisaged in the Commission's
Social Business Initiative (SBI). It will also be consulted by the Commission on the development, setting up and implementation of several action items listed in the SBI. Niels will be the only Dutch representative in this group consisting of 44 members (from 246 applications). He is one of the eight representatives from the academic sector, for which 70 persons have applied.
