De Wereld van Peter Stuyvesant
is the result of a course for second year students of the Utrecht University Research Institute for Culture and History. On this site you will find seventeenth century desciptions of the colony of New Netherland digitized by the Utrecht University Library and made available to the students. The students wrote commentaries and annotations that were added to the text as hyperlinks, a timeline of important events in the history of New Netherland and essays with background information
The
Weyerman Collection
contains the digital version of the eighteenth century work
De Levensbeschryvingen van Nederlandsche konstschilders en konstschilderessen
by Jacob Campo Weyerman. Digitizing the volumes of this work was in fact the first digitization project of the Utrecht University Library
