Start an e-journal
Igitur supports new and existing scientific editorial boards, in- and outside of Utrecht University, with the start-up and publishing of electronic journals and publication websites.
This service is intended to encourage and advance free accessibility to scientific information for everyone. For more information, please refer to the pages Mission and Policy and Why publish with Igitur.
We work with the journal publication software Open Journal Systems (OJS). This system simplifies and speeds up the technical process of starting a journal and offers technical support for a wide variety of editorial activities. The OJS system offers a number of attractive features for readers as well, such as printable versions and e-mail alerts.
There are many activities involved in the set-up of a new e-journal. For example:

the development and design of the website;

the writing and editing of webtexts;

determining and formulating the editorial process;

extra services such as Printing on Demand.
Starting a new journal requires making customized agreements. We invite you to contact Igitur to discuss your ideas for new products or for the answers to any questions that you may have concerning our services.
