As a University College Roosevelt (UCR) student, you can study on the Zeeland coast and still be part of Utrecht University! Until recently, there was no university in Zeeland, but thanks to the establishment of UCR in 2004, the province now offers high-quality Bachelor’s degree programmes in the historical city centre of Middelburg. Like its sister college, University College Utrecht, UCR is a Utrecht University Honours College.
The Roosevelt academic programmes are taught entirely in English, boast a wide variety of courses and cover nearly every academic discipline. This makes them ideal for ambitious, curious and motivated students who have a wide range of academic interests and want to get that bit more out of their degree programme. A degree from UCR qualifies you for a career in international academia, business or public administration.
"For me, it was quite difficult to decide in 2004 whether I should go to a 'regular' university or to University College Roosevelt. I’m glad I chose UCR. One of the reasons why I decided to go to UCR was that I wanted to be a pioneer and to be part of a brand new university. How many times in your life do you get that chance? Moreover, UCR was a strategic decision as I believed – and still do – that a broad academic basis eventually leads to a broad career, something I definitely want to pursue in journalism."
