The Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP)
The Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP) are demand-driven fellowship programmes designed to promote capacity building within organizations in 60 developing countries by providing training and education to their mid-career staff members.

For whom? |
- Applicants are mid-career professionals with at least three years work experience.
- Applicants are a national of one of the following countries.
- Applicants have been unconditionally admitted to a Master’s programme recognized by the NFP.
- Applicants are nominated by their employers. Applications without the support letter of an employer will not be considered.

Application fee |
If you are applying for a NFP scholarship for a Master’s programme you are not required to pay the €100 application fee. However, you must include a letter from your employer endorsing your study plans and guaranteeing that while you are absent the salary will continue to be paid and your job will be held. This is the same letter that you need to use for your actual NFP application. |

Important notes
- Please ensure that you submit a complete application for your Master’s programme by the UU deadline mentioned in the table above.
- If you apply to Utrecht University after the deadline you may still apply for an NFP scholarship. However, Utrecht University cannot guarantee that your file will be reviewed in time to meet the NFP application deadline via the Online Fellowship Application (SOL).
- In order to qualify for an NFP scholarship, you must be unconditionally admitted to the Master’s programme. All entrance requirements must be met, including the English Language test, and any other diplomas or certificates.
- As local deadlines may vary, please consult the Netherlands Embassy, Consulate or local Nuffic NESO office in your country well in advance for specific instructions. Enquiries and information about specific local procedures and deadlines, requirements and selection criteria should also be directed to the embassy, consulate or NESO office. Local procedures may differ from the general information provided on Nuffic’s website or in the brochures.
