Welcome
In many ways plants, animals and fungi play a key role in the sustainability of life on Earth. Within the Master’s programme Environmental Biology, you can study
the fundamental life processes of plants and fungi at different organisational levels, from molecules and cells to whole organisms and ecosystems. In addition you can study animal behaviour from an ecological and evolutionary perspective. The goal of these studies is to understand how plants, animals and fungi function in populations and ecosystems and adapt to continuously changing – often hostile - environments. These fundamental questions can have a spin-off in applied sciences such as in nature conservation and biotechnology.
