International environment
Utrecht is the place to study for students wishing to push their limits. Utrecht University has many exchange programmes for students, staff and scientists, and more than 50 per cent of the graduate programmes are taught in English. Utrecht Summer School is specifically aimed at international students, offering over 60 academic courses.
Inspiring international learning environment
Every year, the graduate and exchange programmes attract some 1,900 international students from 125 different countries. Top teachers from abroad are invited to participate in these programmes, thus contributing to an inspiring international learning environment for Dutch students as well.
The implementation of the Grade Point Average (GPA) system for Utrecht undergraduate and graduate students allows them to qualify more easily for international graduate and PhD programmes, scholarships and job interviews. In the Netherlands, too, GPA is increasingly often requested in university admission procedures and job interviews.
Utrecht Feel at Home Service
International students who arrive in Utrecht can fall back on dedicated facilities, such as the Utrecht Feel at Home Service, which, among other things, offers help in finding accommodation and making visa applications.
International learning opportunities
Utrecht University encourages its students to engage in international learning opportunities such as exchange programmes, traineeships or research projects abroad. To further its international learning capabilities, Utrecht University collaborates with various institutes abroad, one being the University of California.
