Guidance and advice

Good teaching goes hand in hand with personal guidance and advice. Students may request advice from experts at Utrecht University, such as Academic Counsellors, Student Counsellors, Student Psychologists and Programme Counsellors. Utrecht University and Hogeschool Utrecht together set up the Centre for Study Choice. 

Study facilities

ICT resources are used as much as possible, and students work in an electronic learning environment. Logging onto the University ICT facilities is done by using a personal Solis ID and Solis password. Utrecht University has bought campus licences from various software providers, enabling students to buy software programmes for free or at a discounted price. Students living in student residences can benefit from very fast Internet connections.

Utrecht University Library provides access to approximately 4.5 million books and a large amount of electronic information. Finally, various courses are available for improving language or study skills.

Extra-curricular activities

Utrecht is an outstanding place to study, harbouring 150 student organisations and offering many sports and cultural facilities. Utrecht University encourages students to lead an active student life, making time for other activities and for developing a broad perspective on society.
