New Dutch legislation allows small-scale intensive programs to raise their tuition fees. University College Utrecht has applied for the right to do so.
UCU’s tuition fee is made up of two parts: the legal Dutch fee for university study (currently € 1713 for EEA students and € 8620 for non-EEA students) and the International Profile Fee (IPF, currently € 1100, increased by € 150 annually). The IPF is mainly used for scholarships.
There are two possible scenarios. We will communicate by June 1st which scenario becomes reality.
Scenario 1
- The tuition fee for new EEA students is raised to € 3500, and the IPF abolished. Part of the tuition fee is reserved for scholarships. The main advantage is that students will be able to apply for a government loan for the entire fee. In the current situation this is only possible for the legal Dutch fee (€ 1713), and not for the IPF.
- The tuition fee for new non-EEA students is raised to € 8700 + € 1250 IPF.
- The tuition fee for current students is raised to € 1771 + € 1250 IPF.
Scenario 2
- The tuition fee for new EEA students and current students is raised to € 1771 + € 1250 IPF.
- The tuition fee for new non-EEA students is raised to € 8700 + € 1250 IPF.
