Martijn van der Klis MSc

Martijn van der Klis is a PhD Candidate in the Time in Translation-project, in which the goal is to generate semantic maps from data drawn from multilingual parallel corpora to achieve a compositional semantics of the Perfect.

Martijn used to be affiliated to both the UiL OTS labs and the Digital Humanities Lab as a scientific programmer.

At UiL OTS, Martijn was responsible for the development and maintenance of administrative systems, which includes participant web interfaces for both adults and babies and the Ethical committee web portal. From August 2015 to May 2017 he worked for the AnnCor project, in which he i.a. added new functionality to the treebank search engine GrETEL.

At the Digital Humanities Lab, Martijn developed software on request. He worked i.a. on the genealogical tree validator TreeChecker and the text mining application Texcavator

Martijn has a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence. He started his career at the start-up eyefreight, where he worked on creating a transport management system.
