Ferry de Jong is full professor of criminal law and criminal procedure. He is chair of the Willem Pompe Institute for Criminal Law and Criminology (WPI) and is affiliated with the Utrecht Centre for Accountability and Liability Law (UCALL). His research is predominanly focused on the central doctrinal concepts and theoretical foundations of substantive and procedural criminal law. He is a deputy judge in the Court of Appeal of The Hague.
