Frank van Eekeren is professor Sport & Society at the Utrecht University School of Governance (USG). 

Frank is specialised in the societal meaning and organization of sport. Central topics are:

  • Public value creation and CSR in and through sport organizations;
  • Good governance and integrity in sport;
  • Criminal undermining in sport;
  • Social impact of sport events;

His PhD thesis is called 'Clubs and Values', in which he introduces a new ideal type for (football)organizations.

His most recent book is 'Good Governance in Sport, Critical Reflections', which he edited with Arnout Geeraert.

He was professor Impact of Sport at The Hague University of Applied Sciences from 2019 to 2022.
