Profile

Birgit Kaiser is Assistant Professor at the Department of Comparative Literature at Utrecht University. She teaches courses on literatures of the 19th to 21st century, literary theory, and the literary imagination of cultural difference.

Main fields of research are literatures of the 18thto 21st century written in German, English and French; literature at the intersection of philosophies of life and biopolitics; literature and affectivity; baroque and contemporary aesthetics; Francophone literatures of the 20th and 21st century as writings of relationality and difference.
