Chris van der Borgh is lecturer at the
Centre for Conflict Studies at Utrecht University, the Netherlands. He
specialises on issues of conflict analysis, post-war development and peace
building, in particular on the role of external donors in political reform and
governance. He has extensive field experience in El Salvador and wrote his PhD
about the role of external donors in the rebuilding of this country after the
civil war. His current research is on the consolidation of peace processes and
the role of foreign assistance, focussing on the case of Kosovo and comparing
this with other cases of post-war rebuilding. His consultancy experience
includes work for Dutch NGOs on conflict analysis
and peace building.
