Dirk-Martin Grube, born 1959, studied theology at the universities of Hamburg, Heidelberg en Tübingen, Religion at Temple University/Philadelphia (USA) where he received his M.A. and his doctor in philosophy (Ph.D., 1991). He did his 1. Theologische Examen at the University of Hamburg. He was awarded an Alexander-von-Humboldt postdocotral scholarschip on relativism which he pursued at Duquesne University, Pittsburgh (USA). He worked as Wissenschaftlicher Assistent at the University of Kiel in Theology from 1993-1997 ('Habilitation' finished in Kiel in 1999, 'venia legendi' for 'Systematische Theologie'). From 1997-2000 he worked as a Universitair Docent at the University of Groningen in philosophy of religion. From 2000 he got the chair in philosophy of religion and ethics at Utrecht University.

He is specialized in theological issues, such as Fundamental Theology and Christology, in issues in the philosophy of religion, such as Refomed Epistemology and Theories of Pluralism, and philosophical issues, such as theory of science, epistemology and philosophy of language.
