Biochemistry and Cell Biology

The Department of Biochemistry and Cell Biology (B&C) belongs to the faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Utrecht University.

Both  the Division of Biochemistry and the Divison of Cell Biology perform fundamental and applied research on intracellular membrane dynamics. Our research is fully embedded in the research programmes of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine  (Strategic Infection Biology, Biology of Reproductive Cells and Tissue Repair) and of Utrecht University  (Infection & Immunity and Growth & Differentation).

The Educational Program of B&C involves teaching to bachelor and master students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine as well as to students in Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Sciences and University College. PhD students in our Department participate in the Graduate School and Institute of Biomembranes or the Eijkman Graduate School for Immunology and Infectious Diseases.
