Research introduction

The mission of the Pathobiology department is the collection and distribution of knowledge regarding the function and dysfunction of cells, tissues and organs.

The three chairs of the Department participate in two research focus areas of the Veterinary Faculty: Tissue Repair (TR) and Strategic Infection Biology (SIB).

The research groups of prof. M. Everts and prof. A. de Bruin cooperate within TR, focussing on stem cell proliferation during development, tissue regeneration and cancer. The group of prof. A. Gröne investigates the pathogenesis of intestinal infections within SIB.
