Teaching
The department has an integral role in teaching veterinary students within the curriculum 2001 and the bachelor-masters curriculum and offers additional post-graduate courses.
Other teaching
Staff from the department pathobiology teach the anatomy of laboratory animals and subject animal health within the classes provided by the department of lab animal sciences. Members of the department participate in teaching in other faculties of the university (organisms for bachelor and general pathology for master students biomedical sciences, physiology for bachelor students life sciences, anatomy for students animal physiotherapy).
Post-graduate training
The department provides post-graduate training in research (see research groups) and veterinary pathology or in form of a combined program. The European College of Veterinary Pathologists has recognized the department as a training site. A 1.5 year program leading to a master degree in animal pathology combines research and training in veterinary pathology. In addition, the department offers specific courses within the Utrecht Summer School.
