Pathobiology

General information about the Pathobiology Department

The staff of the Pathobiology department is engaged in teaching and research in the fields of Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology and Pathobiology.

Our activities:

• teaching in the Bachelor and Master parts of the veterinary curriculum 
• extracurricular education, both within and outside the veterinary faculty
• research in various Focus and Mass themes and Advanced Veterinary Medicine
• diagnostics of pathology (VPDC)

The department houses the Dutch Wildlife Health Centre (DWHC) and the Dutch Molecular Pathology Centre.(DMPC).

The department has an extensive anatomical collection, which contains wet and plastinated specimens. Most of the specimens are made in our own dissection laboratory and plastination facility. In the Schubärt gallery a selection of the total collection is being exhibited.
