Research

Research at the Department of Cultural Anthropology and Sociology comprises the disciplines of Cultural Anthropology and Sociology and is conducted in a variety of fields.

Research programmes

Research at the Department of Social Sciences is conducted by the Research Institute of Cultural Anthropology and Sociology and consists of two research programmes:

  1. Cultural Anthropology: Political Conflict, Cultural Trauma, and Social Reconstruction
  2. Sociology: Social Networks, Solidarity, and Inequality

 

Research focus areas

Utrecht University has combined its top research into fifteen research focus areas. These are multidisciplinary research areas, which cluster research under single thematic umbrellas. The Department of Cultural Anthropology and Sociology participates in three research focus areas.
