Arriving and living in Utrecht
On the University wide website you will find all neccesary information about arriving, studying and living in The Netherlands and Utrecht.
Student ID-card
Every registered exchange student receives a student ID card with an
unique student number. This number starts with a F followed by six
numbers.
You need your student ID card to register for courses. Also when you need
to loan books from the library you are required to present your student ID
card. In some cases you will receive student discount by presenting the
student ID card.
For the production of the student ID card we need 2 passport photo’s.

Computer Facilities
Spread across the Uithof campus and in the city centre are various computer
rooms which you can use. To access the computers on the Uithof campus
you will need an username and password. You will receive your username
and password during the orientation day.
To print documents you need a “chipknip” which is normally found on bank
cards in Holland. If you do not own a Dutch bank card it is possible to print
documents at the student helpdesk in the Unnik building (room 102) only
(in cash). Naturally this situation is far from ideal and we are searching for
a solution.
If you come across any problems logging into the computer, please go to
the student helpdesk in the Van Unnikbuilding, room 102, call 030-253
4631 or send and email.
NB: If you wish to use the computer rooms in the city centre at Kromme
Nieuwegracht 80, your user name and password will most likely need to
be adjusted. Please go to their student helpdesk for more information.
