Social and Behavioural Sciences

Organisation

Management >>
The Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences is under the general management of the Dean. The Dean is part of the Faculty Management Team (FMT), along with the vice-Dean, the Faculty Director and a student.

Departments >>
The Faculty has five departments, each headed by its own Department Management Team (DMT). The DMTs include at least a teaching portfolio holder and a research portfolio holder. The portfolio holder also serves as the director of the relevant research institute or school. The DMT also includes a Managing Director and often a student, both of whom take part in an advisory capacity.

Divisions
In turn, the five departments represent a number of divisions. Each division represents its own – more specific – scientific field. The divisions conduct both teaching and research activities. These divisions are headed by the Head of the Division (professor).

Graduate school >>
All research programmes offered by the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences are housed in the Graduate School of Social and Behavioural Sciences. This Faculty Graduate School is one of six at Utrecht University. Together, the six graduate schools comprise the University Graduate Division (UGD). The Graduate School is headed by the Director, who is supported by the Board of Studies.
