The Division of Social and Organisational Psychology
The Division of Social and Organisational Psychology consists of two groups:
Social Psychology
The Social Psychology group explores the way people directly and indirectly influence each other’s behaviour. It also pays attention to the psychological processes involved. Daily life and identifiable phenomena form the basis for the group’s socio-psychological research and theory development, which is aimed at understanding, predicting and, possibly influencing what people think, and how they feel and act under the influence of the actual or supposed presence of others.
Organisational Psychology
The Organisational Psychology group concentrates on human behaviour at work and within organisations. This may be individual work behaviour, but also behaviour within teams or organisations. The group’s aim is to use new insights for optimising the work environment. In other words, Organisational Psychology is an applied science which combines research and practical applications.
