Links with secondary schools 

The Faculty of Science offers a wide range of activities for teachers and students in secondary education.

For students

• Junior College Utrecht
  A unique, two-year science programme designed for ambitious sixth-formers who are looking for more of a challenge in their science subjects.
• Master classes
  Two-day, science-focused master classes for sixth-formers. Full of workshops and practicals.  
• Project work
  Utrecht University provides school students with information that is useful for school projects, including providing practical support from the Chemistry and Physics Departments.  
• Bètaplus
  Vwo-teachers offer, together with a lecturer at the University of Utrecht, a module NLT or Mathematics-D for classes 5 and 6.

For teachers

• Betasteunpunt Utrecht
  This Science Support group for the Utrecht region supports teachers at secondary schools in science.
• Beta 1 op 1
  Utrecht science students help school students to choose the most suitable subject for them at university. The school and the mentors jointly decide on the right approach.  
• Beta onder de Dom
  A choice of one-day workshops which aim to deepen teachers' understanding of current topics in science. 
• Bètaplus
  Vwo-teachers offer, together with a lecturer at the University of Utrecht, a module NLT or Mathematics-D for classes 5 and 6.

Other activities

• The Faculty of Science also offers activities such as participation in various Olympiads and practical classes in physics and chemistry for secondary school students.
