Teaching
The Mathematics Department of Utrecht University ranks among the best in the Netherlands and has a considerable international reputation. Virtually every core area of mathematics is strongly represented in the department.
The Utrecht Bachelor's programme in Mathematics attracts the largest number of students compared to other universities in the Netherlands. The department offers graduate teaching of excellent quality: students have a choice to specialize in one of the many fields of research or obtain a broad education in mathematics.

The department participates in Mastermath, a combined effort of the Dutch universities to enhance their Master programs in Mathematics. Furthermore, various courses are organised within the scope of WONDER, a research school in which several mathematics departments in the Netherlands cooperate.
Summer School
To become acquainted with the atmosphere in Utrecht, all prospective students are welcome to participate one of the Utrecht Summer Schools targeted at advanced undergraduate students and starting graduate students.
Unfortunately in the year 2011 the department of Mathematics does not organise a Summer School. The year after there will be a challenging Summer School on Poisson Geometry in Mathematics and Physics!
